As NXT’s medical staff deemed Ember Moon unfit to compete, Dakota Kai happily defied Surrey to claim the NXT Title. Sun Warrior started to spin around in the middle of the match, but Kai caught him off guard with a brutal kick and was victorious. When Kai went on a post-match strike against Surrey, Raquel Gonzalez went on the attack with a message for her NXT challenger at Takeover 36.
LA Knight def. Andre Chase
The million dollar champion was worth his entry fee with a stunning win over Andre Chase. Ted Dibiase brought fireworks after the match as The Million Dollar Man defeated Cameron Grimes in a high stakes match at NXT TakeOver 36.
Gigi Dolan def. Amari Miller
Gigi Dolin is picking up the pace, but Amari Miller was knocked out by frustration early in their fight. After Miller’s flare, Delian regrouped and launched a targeted attack to prevail.
Mr. Regal set the stage for a non-controversial finale.
After Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole chose their 2 out of 3 falls match, Mr. Regal announced a steel cage match to decide the final fall.
Odysseus Jones def. Trey Baxter – NXT Breakout Semifinals
Trey Baxter tried to outwit Jones’ high-flying odyssey in a cat-and-mouse game, but the giant superstar still managed to show off his power. Several shots from Baxter and a final blow allowed Jones to advance to the finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament.
Boa def. Drake Maverick
Boa was brutal from the first call, but Drake Maverick took the field and didn’t back down from the fight. As the match continued, Mei Young rose from her throne to spray Maverick with a mysterious substance, causing Boa to launch a roundhouse kick to help correct his mistakes.
Pat Dunn, def. Ilya Draganov
Ilya Dragunov’s first appearance on NXT was greeted with a boo from Pat Dunn. The two strong fighters were already ready to fight in the ring, and Boyz White picked up the pace with a diving Dragunov. Crazy Rousey rallies through the pain for a senton bomb, but Walter chooses this moment to interrupt the party and open the door for Dunn to hit the Bitter End.
