Broadway star Laura Oceans has been fired from her upcoming show because she was not vaccinated for COVID-19. The actress was scheduled to appear in a one-night production of the musical Crazy for the UK on 29 August 2021.
The play will take place at the Guildhall Theater in East Hampton. Site mandated vaccination and vaccination staff against COVID-19. According to Page Six, Laura Osnes revealed that she avoided the sting because she doesn’t believe in vaccines.
Sources reportedly shared that Laura Osnes’ partner, Tony Yazbek, is concerned about her vaccination status because she has two children at home.
The artistic director, John Gladstone, addressed this situation and said on page 6:
“We’re sorry we don’t have Laura on it, [and] We look forward to working with Laura again. We are concerned about maintaining the safety of our staff and our audience. “
Meanwhile, spokesman Guildhall added:
“Guildhall policy is that performers have the opportunity to provide proof of full vaccinations or recent negative COVID test results.”
The two-time Tony Award nominee was reportedly replaced by Sierra Boggis, best known for playing Ariel in the Broadway version of The Little Mermaid.
Laura Osnes rose to fame after playing the role of Sandy on the popular show Grey’s: You’re The One I Want! She has continued to perform in Broadway productions such as South Pacific, Anything Goes, Bonnie & Clyde and Cinderella.
It received a Drama Desk Award and her second Tony nomination. Laura Oceans married photographer Nathan Johnson.
