It’s mid-July, which means NFL training camp is just a few weeks away. It’s lurking above the preseason games that fans and NFL players have been eagerly awaiting since COVID-19 banned preseason games in 2020.
This gives players who may be shortlisted for their prospective teams a chance to prove themselves in a live match. It also gives fans a chance to see their teams in action before the start of the season.
When is NFL Preseason Week 1?
The NFL preseason kicks off on Hall of Fame weekend, as two of the most storied teams in NFL history face off. The official first week of the NFL preseason begins on Thursday, August 12, with two games scheduled for 7:30pm ET:

While preseason games in the first week typically don’t feature starters on offense and defense, they can feature just a few potential stars who are having success and give them a chance to showcase their talents. There is an opportunity.
Tickets for the preseason games sold out quickly, as it will be the first time since 2019 that most fans will be able to see their team take the field live and in person. To check out more tickets, visit the official website of Ticket Exchange, a partnership between the NFL and Ticketmaster.
