Two Teens Disappeared 20 Years Ago, Now This Gruesome Discovery Raises Even More Questions

On Wednesday, someone made a major breakthrough in a missing-person case that had gone unsolved for more than two decades.

The latest adventure to spark his interest was helping solve the case of 18-year-old Erin Foster and 17-year-old Jeremy Bechtel, who went missing on April 3, 2000, in Sparta, Tennessee, after Foster went to a friend’s house in Black. were done 1998 Pontiac Grand Am.

On November 24, Sides posted a video of the car being searched using sonar, a large magnet, to mark the wreck and its diving gear. He searched a lake near where they were going, and found a car – but it was an old car.

Foster’s family saw his work and, according to a statement from Sheriff Steve Page, alerted the sheriff of Sides’ efforts to locate the missing vehicle.

“After looking into the case, Sheriff Page advised the man that he thought he was looking in the wrong place and told him about the location where the couple disappeared 21 years ago,” the release continued. “This person has changed their location to Hwy 84, Calfkiller River on 11/30/2021.”

Spinning around, he took his sonar and diving gear to the area indicated by the sheriff – and found the missing vehicle.

“A 21 year old cold case was solved with @garmin #sonar #car #coldcase,” he posted Thursday.

He contacted authorities, who soon showed up and confirmed the car was Foster’s Pontiac. The car was pulled from the water, and human remains were found inside the vehicle, according to WTVF-V.

The remains will be sent for DNA testing, in hopes of finding a match between the two families. Young people will eventually shut down.

“Often the case comes up when someone goes missing on a planet and they get lost in their car,” Sides told WTVF. “That was an immediate red flag that, most likely, they had gone into a body of water somewhere.

“It’s a very small town, two young men are missing and no one knows where they went,” he said. “Everybody knows these kids, they’re in school, you know. Half the cops went to school with these guys, they’re friends.

“It’s great to bring so many closures and answers to so many people at once. It means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to all of them, too.

“It’s a burning question,” Sides replied to the comments on one of those posts. “I hope I have answers. I just don’t know.”
