Rumor has it that Mobvoi is in the works. A trio of new smartwatches, including the high-end TicWatch 3 Pro Ultra. Although this smartwatch hasn’t been released yet, the company has announced another Wear OS smartwatch in China, the TicWatch Pro X. The Ticwatch 3 Pro just needs a little improvement.
The highlight of the TicWatch Pro X is the dual-panel hybrid display. It has a 1.39-inch 326ppi primary circular AMOLED display and a secondary FSTN LCD panel at the top. The TicWatch 3 Pro also uses hybrid dual display technology, but this is the first time a TicWatch uses an LCD with color backlight.
The smartwatch offers two ways to use the display: smart and durable. Smart mode activates the AMOLED panel and all functions of the smartwatch, and the 595mAh battery lasts for 4 days. In Endurance mode, the watch uses the FSTN LCD screen and disables some key features, extending battery life to 45 days.
If you look inside the 12.3mm thick TicWatch Pro X, you’ll find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of onboard storage. The software provides more than 20 modes to track various sports activities like swimming, cycling and mountaineering. Thanks to TicMotion, the smartwatch can automatically detect all physical activity and start recording it. During a workout session, your smartwatch can record and display calories burned, heart rate and other relevant metrics. On the right side of the smartwatch are two round buttons that can be used to navigate the UI.
Other features of the TicWatch Pro X include IP68 certification, Sp02 and heart rate sensors, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and NFC for payment support. For mobile data, the smartwatch has a 4G eSIM feature that supports VoLTE calls through the built-in speaker and microphone.
Dali Galaxy Watch 4, TicWatch Pro X runs on Wear OS 2.0. There is currently no word on whether the smartwatch will receive the Wear OS 3 update.
TicWatch Pro X pre-orders are already open in China. jd.com 2,399 yuan ($375). Available in two strap options, black and brown. Mobovi has no word on whether the latest smartwatch will eventually make its way outside of China.
