The best move for Dragonite in Pokemon GO
As is common for most Dragon-type Pokemon, Dragon Tail is Dragonite’s best quick move. Other options can’t really compare to Dragon’s Tail. Dragon’s Breath deals less than half damage to Dragon’s Tail. Steelwing also does less DPS because it’s not STAB. Dragontail runs 16.4 DPS and gains 8.4 EPS. It is very solid for a fast movement.
By far Dragonetta’s best move is Draco Meteor. In Pokemon GO, as in the main series games, Draco Meteor’s power makes it the best option for Dragon-type moves in most cases. Draco Meteor runs 50 DPS while costing only 27.8 energy. It’s a small cost to use such a powerful move. Everyone in Draco Meteor PvP Ultra League will always be hard to deal with.
The second best option for Dragonites in terms of charging moves is Hurricane. Although it consumes a considerable amount of energy (37), it compensates for the output loss (110). Hurricane is also another available STAB Dragonite, as it is also flying.
The problem with Dragonite’s moves is that the majority of the moves he learns are dragon-type. As a result, its potential for the second Charge Shifting slot is a bit limited, as it’s best for the Pokemon to use a variety of moves when Draco Meteor trumps all other Dragon-type moves. The other moves he learns are normal, especially Hyper Beam. Dragonite, however, is still better with Hurricane.
