The OnePlus 9 Pro has been available in the US since last April, but only in its most expensive form. There were plans to offer a cheaper configuration as well, but this has been delayed since launch. But now a new report says that this model will not be sold in North America at all.

All things considered, paying an extra $100 for an extra 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage isn’t a terrible deal. But it’s a setback for those waiting for a cheaper model with more modest specs. Ultimately, if you’re in North America and want a 2021 OnePlus flagship, you might be happy with the underpowered but cheaper OnePlus 9, or spend more than you’d planned for the top-of-the-line configuration of the Pro. Of course, the lack of a middle point could further alienate fans.
