Earlier this week, Stephen Curry claimed in an interview that he takes it from NFL legend and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. At age 44, Brady enjoyed 22 successful seasons in the NFL and was the main orchestrator behind the New England Patriots from 2001 to 2019.
Tom Brady is considered one of the greatest players in the game, and he has been able to extend his career by constantly working on his fitness and following a strict diet. Brady recently led the Buccaneers to another 43-year Super Bowl win, and now he’s been an inspiration to Stephen Curry as well.
Stephen Curry revealed that he spoke to Tom Brady for advice on how to expand his career.
Stephen Curry had a very successful season for the Golden State Warriors and single-handedly led them to the play-in tournament. Curry won the score this year and at age 33 is quickly entering her twilight years. Regardless, given his overall game, Curry is often said to be physically capable of extending his career into his late 30s.
Last week, in an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Stephen Curry claimed he had already talked to Tom Brady about extending his career:
“Exactly. Actually, I talked to him about it in person. He’s in a place now where he can look back and talk about it with some authority and experience. But even he said, back then, when he was in his early 30s, mid-30s, late 30s, it was always, “I think there’s two more in me. Years left. stay Do everything you can to keep yourself fit and sharp, both physically and mentally. “And then you look and do it again, repeat it for the next two years. And you repeat it again.”
So, Stephen Curry claimed that Brady told him to avoid a “year-to-year” mentality. Brady reportedly had a period in which he took it one season at a time, allowing players to retire even though their fitness allowed them to play through the season. So, for Curry, the key seems to be to stay as mentally and physically ready as possible and focus on the upcoming season.
That seems to be the plan, too, given that Curry recently signed a $215 million extension with the Golden State Warriors through 2025-26. NBA season.
