Sony’s making limited-edition WH-1000XM4 headphones in white, just in case beige was too loud of a color

It’s no secret that Sony makes the best ANC-equipped wireless headphones. You can buy it today. The WH-1000XM4s is a relatively minor upgrade over the XM3, but it offers excellent sound quality, longer battery life, and best-in-class noise cancellation. But that’s not enough for Sony’s eyes. The colors currently available for the XM4 (black, beige, blue) are too noisy and distracting to block out the whole world. If you need calming tones, these new limited edition headphones are for you.

A new color, Silent White, was “developed to embody the concept of calm and serenity,” says Sony. To me they look like white headphones, but if it helps you find peace and quiet while listening to the new Taylor Swift album, then more power to you. Marketing aside, the color looks great with a solid improvement over the already available beige model. Despite Sony’s claim that an “extra paint coating” helps fight stains, the all-white headphone set will inevitably absorb some dirt and grime from everyday use, so be prepared to stick to cleanliness.

Other than the color, it’s the same awesome XM4 that was released last year. The release coincides with Sony’s 75th anniversary next month, which explains its “limited edition” status. Available in Europe. It starts at €430/£400 from May while in stock. Unfortunately, it is not yet known if they will hit stores in the United States.
