Ryan Kelly: Indianapolis Colts player and wife Emma mourns the loss of her daughter

Emma Kelly said she was 19 weeks pregnant when she went to hospital last Wednesday after suffering complications.

At the hospital, she says she knew her daughter’s heart had stopped.

“I was told we had no choice but to have our baby,” she wrote on Instagram on Monday. “Ryan and I spent about 48 hours in the hospital.

I worked with him for 24 hours before he came on 17th December. At first she was so angry that I had to leave her, only to turn out to be the biggest blessing in this nightmare. He gave Ryan and I a chance. To hug our little Santa, Mary Kate, before officially saying goodbye.

“Those 19 weeks with her opened our hearts and souls more than we could have ever imagined and I am forever grateful to have spent some time on earth with the girl who gave us Made mother and father.

“She was small, perfect and incredibly loved by all who knew her. I don’t think we’ll ever understand why God decided to call her home when she did. , but our faith is unwavering. He knows better than we do and that’s what I needed to go home to heaven.”

Ryan Kelly expressed his feelings on Twitter.

“Nothing makes me happier than being your father,” he wrote. “This is the gift you gave to your mother and me. You were and always will be a miracle.

“I’m sorry you never got to open those sweet eyes and see us or take your first steps, but now you have angel wings. You left this world too soon, but we know you God had a great purpose for your mother and I am comforted to know that your great grandfather loves you.

“Thank you for watching over us and our future brothers. I will always wonder who I am today. Until we meet again my sweet girl, I love you.

Colts support

In support, the Colts tweeted an emoji with a blue heart and butterfly.

Kelly missed the Colts’ 27-17 victory over the New England Patriots on Saturday night after her daughter’s death.

After the game, Colts head coach Frank Reich said the team was respecting the family and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick expressed his condolences.

“All we can do is show him love and care for the game,” Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II said.

“We can show the same love and care for him off the field … It just goes to show that life touches everyone at some point along the way. We’re here for Ryan and his family. I am thinking when they are going through this difficult time.
