The biggest arguments among Pokemon Unite fans revolve around which item works best on which Pokemon.
A firmly established target was the target for some time. With the update that came with Mamoswine and Sylveon, several new items were introduced, including Razor Claw and Weakness Policy. Since then, some things have grown in popularity, while others have completely fallen out of use.
What items dominate Pokemon Unite Target?
S. Tire
- Buddy Barrier
- Score Shield
- Focus band
No matter who plays Pokemon, they can put one of these on and do well. Buddy Barrier proved to be the best item in the game as players could perform a Unite move to shield each teammate during a team fight (and hopefully score some kills as well).
Scoring can be difficult at times, which is why the Score Shield is so valuable. Players can often abuse this early on to score goals and gain experience. Focus Band allows the Pokemon to stay at low health, potentially saving itself from death.

- Muscle band
All of these items are strong choices, though they may depend on the Pokemon. Muscle Band and Choize Specs are excellent reinforcement items for attack and special attack. Razor Claw has emerged as a great crit support item that also increases based on attack and slows the opponent.
B tier

- Energy Amplifier
- Special attack specifications.
- Attack weight
These items are more situational. The scope lens is absolutely perfect, but only decent for every other role. Explanations for special attacks and attack intensities can be helpful, but only for characters who can score points frequently.
One item that can have some powerful capabilities is a power amplifier. This would be good in synergy with a Pokemon that likes to throw out its Unite Move (Blastwise) often. Shared experiences can help keep Pokemon support up to date, but they usually take the place of another item that Pokemon might need more of.
C tire

- Float stone
- Shell bull
- Smart glasses
These items should generally be ignored, but can sometimes be beneficial. Flute stone and shell bull were at the top, but provided little benefit compared to other items. Wise glasses give a slight flat boost to special attack, which is negligible compared to scaling from choice specs. Weakness politics is also really niche, it only works on characters like Lucario who work with low health.
