The New York Knicks had multiple first- and second-round picks from the 2021 NBA Draft, but traded some of them to far-flung teams like the Charlotte Hornets and LA Clippers on Thursday night.
Unable to move up in the draft, the New York Knicks selected three players in the first round, but two of them went second overall.
The Knicks had nearly 19 picks and selected striker Ky Jones from Texas, but traded him to Charlotte in exchange for a safe Premier League player in 2022. The trade won’t be official until the end of the draft.
Tennis goalkeeper Kevin Johnson has been taken by New York, but will go to the Clippers in exchange for the 25th pick and the 2024 second division side.

The 21-year-old was a key player for Houston that qualified for the NCAA Final Four, and in his junior season he earned AP All-American honors on the third team and the AAC team as a teammate of the year. He is a two-way defender who could be one of the most highly regarded players in the draft.
