Motorola has long stuck with a stripped-down version of Android on its phones, which meant faster updates than the competition. Not so these days when Samsung can promise monthly patches. Four years. The update is not surprising. These are most of the Android 12 features you’ve come to know, and Moto’s MyUX is at the top. Moto owners will receive a microphone/camera toggle, accessibility improvements, and Moto’s Material U specification (see below). Google’s Monet system isn’t publicly available yet, so it looks like Moto has introduced its own Android 12 theme option. Like Samsung. The company’s blog post also mentioned that there will be changes to customization features like Ready for 2022, but didn’t go into detail.

Business Edition phones are also on the list, including the Moto G Pro, Motorola Edge (2021), Motorola Edge 20, Motorola Edge 20 Lite, and Motorola Edge 20 Fusion. For lower-priced phones, this will probably be the only major update they see. However, Moto doesn’t promise long update support even for its flagships. You should enjoy this update when it starts rolling out in February next year.
