It’s been a while since Minecraft confirmed major feature updates. About a year actually. The first Caves & Cliffs update was released today, which includes 3 new mobs, several new blocks, and new craftable items like a telescope. And this is the first update of Caves and Rocks. The second patch will be released this holiday season, which will surely bring more content to the game.
You can watch the launch trailer for Caves & Cliffs: Part 1 above. As you can see, the cute goat was added to the game as a mob, and the cameo of the Mexican walking fish is pretty cute. Glow Squids are a new addition that rounds out the three new mobs in today’s update. Players can also find Dripleafs, Pointed Dripstones, Cave Vines, Amethyst Geodes, Moss Carpets, Azalea Leaves and a few other new blocks. New items such as Spyglass are also available, and Copper has been added to the game, so there are new mechanics that allow you to create different looks for your items by choosing from Exposed Copper, Weathered Copper and Oxidized Copper. are

New features:
Axolotl
- Axolotls are amphibious creatures that thrive in groundwater.
- Grabbing a barrel of tropical fish will cause nearby Axolotls to chase you on land and water. Axolotls are not tamed, but can be bred to prey on tropical fish buckets.
- Axolotl attacks fish, squid, sinks and guardians!
- Axolotls come in a variety of colors and spawn with equal opportunity, except for blue. Blue axolotls are less likely to be produced as mutants when breeding two axolotls.
- Axolotls can survive on land for several minutes. After that, they begin to dry out and suffer long-lasting damage until they are rehydrated.
- Chances are the Axolotl will play dead when taking damage. While playing dead, the Axolotl regenerates health and the mob cannot target the Axolotl.
- If a player kills an Axolotl attacking mob, they will be rewarded with a regeneration effect and mining fatigue will be removed.
- Axolotls can be raised in buckets like fish!
Goat

- Currently, goats grow in Extreme Hills. It will change with Caves and Rocks: Part II.
- Goats sometimes collide with players and other mobs.
- Goats jump higher and take less fall damage than other mobs.
- Goats will avoid walking on powdery snow.
- You can use wheat to breed and lure goats.
- Use empty casks to get milk.
- Listen to the excited screeching goat!
Glow squid

Glow Ink Pouch and Glow Item Frame
- Attach the Glow Ink Pouch to the Item Frame on the crafting table to create a Glow Item Frame.
- All items in the Glow Item frame are perfectly lit even at night!
