Marvel just announced another game and it should be out soon.
Announced at Gamescom, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be the latest from the iconic comic book company. Midnight Sons is supposed to be a strategy RPG game that will delve into the dark side of the Marvel Universe as heroes like Ghost Rider, Blade and Magic clash with Lilith, the Mother of Demons.
With the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, admittedly, lighter content, Marvel is taking the opportunity to explore another side that is unlikely to make it to the movies.
Here’s everything we know so far.
Marvel’s Midnight Sons Announced at Gamescon
There aren’t many gameplay details in the latest Marvel release. According to Nibellion, it will be announced in about a week on September 1st. He will have a relatable hero who will live among other Marvel heroes like Wolverine, Blade and others.
The first images of the game show a distinctly darker tone for the characters, even for those like Doctor Strange who will appear in the MCU and Midnight Suns.
The game will reportedly be based on the 1992 Marvel crossover about the rise of Midnight’s Sons from the comics, and tells the story of Lilith, the main antagonist of the upcoming game. Doctor Strange leads the formation of a team of dark heroes who will stop him.
The team in the game will consist of many fan favorites including Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Blade, Ghost Rider, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange.
Midnight Sons is set to appear in March 2022, so the release is just around the corner. Between now and then, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which was recently announced, will also be announced (October 2021).
The game will be supported on all gaming platforms except mobile. This will happen on some previous generation consoles as well as the next generation. Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC users will be able to purchase the game as soon as it’s released.
