For most Pokemon it will be obvious if it’s too good because it will be a different color than normal. When a Shiny Pokemon appears on the screen, it will be accompanied by a glowing glow around it. As for other similar Pokemon like Ganger or Garchomp, their shiny forms are less noticeable as they are only a slightly darker shade of the original color. For such Pokemon, players have to pay attention to the sparks that appear when they first meet a great Pokemon.

For players determined to find the perfect Pokemon, there are some useful things to keep in mind. First, the standard occurrence rate for any regular Pokemon is 1 in 500. In order not to miss any opportunity to find a Great Pokemon, it’s best to start an encounter with every Pokemon you find since Great Pokemon don’t appear on the map. . For Pokémon that have recently celebrated Community Day, the shiny rate is around 1 in every 25 births. Some Pokemon are also given a “Perma Boost” for their Great Chances. These odds are around 1 spawn for every 64 Pokemon in the spawn list. It’s constantly changing as more information comes out so it’s always a good idea to check out the great list of Slough Roads before you go hunting.

Unfortunately, for now, there is no surefire way to get awesome Pokemon in Pokemon GO. In the past, there have been special research events that have rewarded Shiny Pokémon, such as the Shiny Eevee awarded in special Jumpstart surveys.
