Genshin Impact will be spinning its event banners soon, bringing a replay for the powerful Pyro DPS, Hu Tao.
Hu Tao’s banner will be displayed in Genshin Impact for three weeks, until the end of version 2.2. Full details of the banner have been confirmed, featuring Siu, Dion and a new character, Thom, under Ho Tao.
This article explains how to calculate the wishes and premogame you need to call the funeral home director yourself.
How many wishes will it take to get Hu Tao in Genshin Impact?
In U Genshin Impact Banner character events, the player’s mercy is calculated by counting the number of wishes spent since their last 5-star call. Mercy is expressed when the banners are rotated, and each player receives 5 stars until their mercy reaches 90.
If a player’s last 5-star call on a character event banner was a standard banner character, their next 5 stars are guaranteed to feature the character. In this case, it will soon become Hojin Tao. Players in this position can easily subtract their current 90 lust to see how much desire it takes to get Ho Tao.
On the other hand, if a 5-star player’s last call was a featured role, things are a little different. These players only have a 50% chance of getting featured in their next 5-star draw. Because of this 50-50 mechanic, they may need to pull out as many as 180 to get Ho Tao, sadly not.
When players calculated the amount of desire it took to obtain the Hu Tao, the Primogem became easier to find. They can simply multiply the number of wishes they want by 160, which is the cost of Primogem per wish.
Fortunately, Genshin Impact banners have a hidden mechanic called “soft pity”. Once a player’s Pity approaches 75 on a character’s event banner, their chances of getting 5 stars increase greatly. Therefore, it is unlikely that a player needs all 90 wishes to get 5 stars like Ho Tao.
