Horizon forbidden west new toys trailer revealed new cutting mechanics, machines and weapons and gave some insight into the sequel’s story.

Players will once again take on the role of Aloy in an attempt to stop “Doom”, which takes countless lives in a post-apocalyptic world. Horizon of the Forbidden West takes place a thousand years after the destruction.

The gameplay trailer shows Aloy helping a friend and taking an important artifact from him. A friend named Erand is a character who also appears in Horizon Zero Dawn. Here it is seen how a human tribe keeps him captive. Aloy follows him to the camp.

Horizon Forbidden West: Actually upgrading?

Gameplay footage shows Aloy facing flying machines like the Skywing, land machines like the Clastrider and Tremortsk, and amphibious machines like the Snappama.

Aloy is seen wearing the “Shield Wing”, a new skating mechanic introduced in Horizon Forbidden West. Aloy arrived at the tribe’s camp after a well-hardened underwater swim, with a landscape full of algae and coral. He could be seen grabbing and sliding down what looked like a large ancient structure.

While the stealth mechanics in Forbidden West of Horizon look pretty similar to its predecessor, the combat seems to have improved a lot. Bumps in a crowd are more noticeable. The gameplay footage also showed Aloy doing an animation in the middle of a fight to recharge her spear.

The Forbidden West Horizon user interface also looks tuned, solid and modern compared to the slightly rustic look of the Zero Dawn user interface.

The world looks faintly beautiful, with red and green foliage and beautiful sunlit windows, combined with the most prominent post-apocalyptic touch of the horizon.

The developers also discussed the weapon upgrade system that the desktop will use.

While PlayStation State of Play didn’t announce a release date for Horizon Forbidden West in today’s live stream, a late 2021 release doesn’t seem too far off, given Sony’s prominent gameplay.
