Now is the best time to be a Pixel user. With the usual Android update coming at the end of the month, Google presented earlier today with several software features coming soon to Pixel phones. This update is compatible with the December 2021 Android security patch, which is currently available for all Google Pixel 3a and newer smartphones.

Factory images and OTA files are now available for Pixel 3a series, Pixel 4 series, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a. Pixel 6 and 6 Pro downloads won’t be available until later this month, but we’ll update the list once we post them.

Google is confirming several bug fixes and performance improvements with this update. In addition to fixing many of the audio and video playback issues on the new smartphone, the company has released fixes for the random calling assistant on the Pixel 6.
