Google Chat aims to help you emote better with new emoji

Whether or not we can use emoji is a little more complicated than we’d like. The apps you use most may not provide the same emoticons that the system provides. But if you’re a Google Chat user, you’ll be happy to get a new emoji soon.

The set is currently being updated with Emoji 13.1 which includes 217 new characters. 😵‍💫❤️‍🔥💑) — Pixel phones were introduced in December. This set expands your diversity and inclusion, including gender-neutral, same-sex and stereotypical emojis.

Emoji skin color and gender preference are stored separately, which is convenient when using different emoticons to refer to others.

The chat update is already rolling out to Android users and will roll out to all users in the coming weeks. Google is working on bringing the new emojis to its iOS app and web client, but it will take a few more weeks to launch.

The changes are available to all Google Workspace customers and G Suite Basic and Business users.
