Daniel Cormier can’t help but laugh at the memory of death that links him to Leon Edwards.
Taking to his official Twitter account, Daniel Cormier shared a meme containing pictures of a conversation between him and Leon Edwards after his recent fight against Bilal Muhammad.
Cormier — a former UFC heavyweight and welterweight champion who currently serves as part of the UFC’s commentary team — was photographed with Edwards after his fight against Muhammad.
The meme, which Cormier posted on Twitter, used several photos of his interaction with Leon Edwards. Fans can check out the meme and Cormier’s statement below:
“Once again the champion (internet) is unbeatable smdh @Leon_edwardsmma”
As noted in the meme, the first photo shows Cormier shaking hands with Leon Edwards and making eye contact. Cormier’s dialogue in the first picture was as follows:
“Hey, Leon, that was a terrible effort.”
This was followed by another photo showing Daniel Cormier hugging Leon Edwards. The photo contains a response from Edwards in which he thanked Cormier and said the compliment meant a lot to DC for Prick the Eye. Edwards’ dialogue read:
“Thank you, DC. It means a lot from you.”
This is believed to be a reference to the punches to the eye that Daniel Cormier landed on Stipe Mucic in his first fight, which Cormier won by first-round KO at UFC 226 in July 2018.
It is also a reference to the eye sting that Cormier faced Miocic in their trilogy fight, which DC lost by unanimous decision at UFC 252 in August 2020.
It should be noted that neither Daniel Cormier nor Leon Edwards actually said what was stated in the meme. Cormier suggested that the memes were joking, not what was actually being said during their conversation.
Leon Edwards vs. Bilal Muhammad ended due to eye violence.

The UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad Jang card is headlined by a match in the light heavyweight division between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. The match ended in the second round when Muhammad was crippled and unable to fight due to a peep from Edwards.
The fight was declared a no contest (NC) and later Leon Edwards said he would like to continue and fight for the UFC light heavyweight title next time.
However, Bilal Muhammad immediately criticized Edwards for not agreeing to his demands for a rematch. Muhammed believes the duel’s next fight should be a rematch to determine a clear winner.
