Anker is a big name in the charging accessories business and often has the best phone charging accessories. The company is jumping into the next generation of power plugs with thinner, cooler powered Inker PowerPort III pods that support the latest USB PD PSS (Power Delivery Programmable Power Supply) charging standards.

With 65W of power onboard, the PowerPort III Pod charges everything from smartphones to tablets and laptops at lightning-fast speeds. It’s a pretty attractive approach for $39.99. To find out how common this charger is, let’s take a look at some tests and the Anker PowerPort III Pod review.

In typical Anchor fashion, PowerPort III pods are available in white. Considering the 65W rated power, this is quite a compact adapter. It measures 6.8 x 3.0 x 4.5 cm and weighs 132 grams. Plug types are regional and available in all North American, European and UK versions. The US version has a folding prong on the back. A USB-C cable isn’t included in the box, so you’ll need to bring your own cable that can handle more than 3A of current for fast charging.

A single USB-C port on the front features Anker’s PowerIQ 3.0 technology. Apart from the proprietary brand, this port supports USB Power Delivery 3.0 and USB PD PPS. The latter is required for super fast charging. From 25W to 45W on Samsung Galaxy S21 series Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Specifically, the USB PD mode of the charger can provide 5V, 9V and 15V at 3A, and 20V at 3.25A. This charger boasts a single USB PD PPS mode with variable voltage from 3.3V to 21V and current up to 3.25A. During charging, the energy conversion efficiency is very good with an average of 85%.
