AEW has delivered some of the best wrestling content in recent history, turning up the heat as fans return. AEW’s efforts have been rewarded with a steady and healthy increase in ratings over the past three weeks.
For the AEW Fight for the Fallen show, AEW crossed the 1 million mark for the third week in a row, as the average viewership was 1.108 million. Although ratings were thus slightly lower than last week (1.148 million), given that AEW had to compete with the Olympics, maintaining the same number was a testament to the incredible product the company released.
Despite a slight drop in total viewers, AEW recorded growth across all key demographic groups 18-49, reaching a 0.45 compared to last week’s 0.44. Interestingly, WWE Raw was a 0.49 on Monday so it will be interesting to see how the demo ratings grow in the coming weeks.
Can AEW make it 4 in a row next week?
Since AEW Fyter Fest Night 1, AEW has had three consecutive weeks with over 1 million viewers. This is the first time Tony Khan and AEW have been on the roster since AEW Dynamite debuted in 2019 as they have been firing on all cylinders for some time now.
The AEW Dynamite: Homecoming trend for next week will continue as another comprehensive card is already in place.
The show will feature a women’s title eliminator match featuring Layla Hurst and Ally. Miro will defend his TNT Championship against ‘Big Shotty’ Lee Johnson. Christian will take over the blade.
The two matches with champions announced so far are Juventud Guerrera vs. Chris Jericho as the third act at Jericho. The match is a big throwback to Jericho’s time in the WCW Cruiserweight Division.
The drama “Back Home” will be Malakai Black’s first match in AEW, pitting him against AEW EVP Cody Rhodes. This match will probably be the main event in another exciting show and we hope it lives up to the huge expectations.
