5 tips to build a secret base in Minecraft Java Edition

One of the fun things about Minecraft is the limitless imagination that players can use, and especially when it comes to building home bases, the possibilities are endless.

Building a home base is one of the more creative things Minecraft players do, and each player makes their home base unique.

Every Minecraft player has a house base which is their home in the upper arena. It can be as big or as small as you want, but it’s a place you want to return to. Players can replenish supplies, rest, garden, rest or train for further adventures.

However, some Minecraft players enjoy hidden dens. It is most common underground, but can be built in canyons, mountains, waterfalls, and anywhere else.

Things Not to Compromise When Building a Secret Hidden Base in Minecraft

1) location, location, location

As every Minecraft player knows, location is undoubtedly one of the most important things when building a home base. If you enjoy a cold and snowy land, then the Ice Biome or Ice Spike might be perfect for you. If you enjoy access to greenery, it’s best to find a forest or meadow.

If you want to build an underground base in Minecraft, keep an eye out for large, empty patches of land that can provide plenty of space for digging. Underground secret or hidden bases must be below ground level.

2) Sufficient materials are available before construction.

Minecraft players quickly realize that building materials are important. You need wood to make almost anything, from tools to beds and more. Wood is also used as a building block to make house foundations.

If you don’t want to find wood, grass and stone that can be dug up to create a hidden foundation and used as walls, roofs and more. Having a lot of materials at your disposal, already in your inventory or in another box, can help you build a base faster.

3) Prepare a blueprint before starting construction.

In Minecraft, planning can go a long way when one wants to build a large area, especially an underground home base. Grab a piece of paper and draw how you want your base to help in the long run.

Make sure to use the minecraft measure: blocks. Doors are two blocks high, ceilings are usually somewhere between four and more, but no smaller than two, as this can cause navigation problems if you’re not tilted.
