The GBI issued a Blue Alert shortly after 11 a.m. Friday after the five escaped from the Pulaski County Jail and stole a white KIA Sedona 2015 van from the parking lot. The van’s Georgia license plate says CMP8628.
According to the GBI, the inmates have been identified as Tyree Williams Jr., Dennis Panix Jr., Brandon Pooler, Tyree Jackson and Lewis Evans III.
Five inmates have a history of violent crimes and two are armed with Tasers, according to the GBI.
Authorities added that two men are facing murder charges.
Authorities are urging citizens not to approach the individuals. Anyone who sees them should call 911, the GBI said.
