VIG | Surveillance video shows Oakbrook robbing Louis Vuitton.
The Oak Brook Police Department reported a security officer at 196 Oak Brook Center at approximately 3:31 p.m. regarding the arrest and speeding of traffickers.
When they entered the store, they took off their clothes and filled garbage bags, Oak Brook Police Chief James Krueger said.
Fourteen suspects fled the scene in three separate vehicles. One of the police vehicles, a Dodge Charger, was reported stolen from Chicago in October. The vehicle was recovered after the operation on Friday, police said. Investigators said they are following leads, including the car’s license plate number.

The Oak Brook police officers were released from custody Thursday afternoon.
Shopkeeper Mahboob Abbas said that this area is safe. “We come here all the time. The kids are playing outside.”
“I didn’t expect something like this to happen out of town,” said shopper Song. “I just got out of town. Because I thought I was all gone.”
It’s not the only Louis Vuitton store to set a price. A similar crime happened last month in the northern suburbs, about 30 miles away.
In this case, Northbrook police said they arrested 13 thieves and 3 directors while stealing $66,000 worth of merchandise from a private store in the Northbrook Court Mall.
“We don’t know if there’s a link yet, but there are definitely similarities, and investigators are talking with their investigators,” Krueger said.

Oakbrook police are now turning to the Illinois attorney general, who has created a task force for these types of crimes.
“The attorney general is looking closely at this investigation and whether it will lead to a more detailed investigation,” Krueger said.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen or has information about anything suspicious to contact Oak Brook police at 630-368-8700 or by email. [email protected]
